This lens features an optical design of 13 elements in 12 groups, including FLD elements and SLD elements. These correct various types of aberration through optimal centring. The Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG delivers ultra-high image quality across the entire focusing range. By applying aspherical elements at specific positions, astigmatism and field curvature are also maximally corrected. The result is superior resolving power right to the edge of the frame.

The Sigma 35mm 1:1.4 DG HSM delivers extraordinary expressive power at the high aperture of f/1.4. In wide angle photography, the large f/1.4 opening provides excellent brightness and beautiful bokeh. Correction of coma aberration reduces the scattering of light points at the edges of the frame — particularly useful when photographing the night sky and illuminated scenes. It also produces attractive blur in out-of-focus areas of the subject. The use of an aspherical front element ensures well-illuminated corners and corrected distortion. The rounded aperture blades deliver an attractive rendering of out-of-focus areas.

Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM)

The Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) focuses quickly and silently. Manual override is always possible by turning the focus ring (full-time manual focus). Thanks to an improved AF algorithm, focusing is smoother than ever.

This lens features a metal mount that is extremely precise and durable. The surface has been specially treated to make it stronger and more wear-resistant, giving the mount an exceptionally long service life.
