Panasonic Lumix DC-S5 II

The Panasonic Lumix DC-S5 II is an addition to the popular LUMIX S series. The mirrorless camera has incredible photo and video performance in an attractive, compact design. The S5 II has a 24-megapixel 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor that lets in plenty of light and delivers razor-sharp images. The sensor combined with the advanced image processor delivers excellent image quality for both photo and video recordings.

Reliable autofocus and stabilisation

The renewed image sensor supports, for the first time in the LUMIX line, hybrid phase-detection autofocus. The hybrid autofocus system combines phase detection with contrast detection for fast and reliable focus. The new system can easily recognise subjects, even in challenging conditions such as low light. Once focus is locked, it keeps tracking the subject across the screen. Continuous autofocus is also available when you zoom in, as well as AF micro adjustments.

The LUMIX S5 II has significantly improved image stabilisation so you also take stable, strong shots handheld. Active image stabilisation comes in very handy in challenging conditions such as when using a telephoto lens or when filming while walking. The active image stabilisation also provides very stable videos by optimising horizontal, vertical and rotation correction.

Exceptional video performance

The mirrorless camera has exceptional video performance comparable to the LUMIX S1H. You film in 4:2:0 10-bit 6K (3:2) and 5.9K (16:9) at 30fps and 4:2:2 C4K/4K at 60fps. You easily record in High Frame Rate with up to 120 fps and in slow motion with up to 180fps. You can use different colour profiles such as 14+ stop V-Log and V-Gamut. Support for a REAL TIME LUT function means you can upload colour grading LUTs to an SD card and add them directly on the camera instead of during post-production. For professional videographers, features such as Waveform Monitor, Vector Scope and Zebra Pattern have been added. Features such as System Frequency (24.00Hz) and Synchro Scan also make this camera suitable for professional use.

Excellent photos with minimal workflow

The camera has various options that give you excellent photos with minimal workflow. Functions such as AWB lock, MF assist and a new Live Crop function provide a highly refined shooting experience. An HDMI type-A and USB 3.2 Gen 2 connection provide extensive connectivity options. Thanks to 5GHz Wi-Fi, you can also connect wirelessly, quickly and stably, to smartphones and tablets. Dual UHS-II memory card slots ensure you always have enough space.

The Panasonic LUMIX S 18-40mm f/4.5-6.3 is an ideal lens for photographers looking for flexibility and portability. Thanks to the unique focal range from 18 mm (ultra-wide-angle) to 40 mm (standard), you can capture both sweeping landscapes and portraits with a natural perspective. The minimum focusing distance of 15 centimetres makes the lens versatile, so it's suitable for a variety of shooting situations.

Panasonic Lumix S 50mm f/1.8

The Panasonic Lumix S 50mm f/1.8 is a prime lens with a large maximum aperture of f/1.8 suitable for the L-Mount system. This lens is the second addition of four lenses in the Lumix S series that are the same size and whose control positions are identical, which is very practical in use. The optical construction of the Lumix S 50mm f/1.9 consists of nine lens elements in eight groups, including three aspherical lenses, one ED (Extra Low Dispersion) lens and one UHR (Ultra-High Refractive Index) lens. The three aspherical lenses provide both excellent image rendition and beautiful bokeh effects. The ED lens effectively minimises chromatic aberration. The circular nine-blade aperture makes very nice round shapes possible in an out-of-focus background at a wide-open aperture.

The Lumix S 50mm f/1.8 is suitable for portraits and landscapes, among other things, but it also performs excellently in video recording thanks to a mechanism that suppresses focus breathing. Through the use of micro-step aperture control, which allows exposure to be adjusted smoothly, professional-quality video recordings can be made with this lens. In addition, thanks to its compact size and weight of just 300 grams, it's ideal to take along on any shoot, and it is also dust- and splash-proof and resistant to temperatures down to -10 degrees Celsius.
