The Canon EOS R3 ushers in a new era for professional photographers and filmmakers. The camera has been specially designed to capture the fastest-moving action in ways never seen before. With ultra-responsiveness, high sensitivity, reliability and durability, it meets the demands of professional users.

The R3 is the first EOS camera featuring a stacked full-frame BSI CMOS sensor with back-side illumination, designed and manufactured by Canon. With 24.1 MP (effective), you get a perfect balance between resolution, speed and dynamic range. Combined with a powerful DIGIC X image processor, this creates a new dimension in high-speed photography and videography. Think 30 fps with full AF/AE tracking and minimal image distortion when using the electronic shutter.

Autofocus has been taken to the next level with the new generation Dual Pixel CMOS AF II. Thanks to intelligent AF tracking, you can keep people, animals (dogs, cats and birds) and motorsport (racing cars and motorbikes) in sharp focus at all times, even at 30 fps. Even at light levels of -7EV or lower, focusing is no problem. The groundbreaking Eye Control AF system allows you to select and move the focus point using your eyes, giving you unprecedented control over the AF.

Video recording is possible in various resolutions: 6K DCI, 4K DCI and UHD, and Full HD. The EOS R3 offers the ability to store internally oversampled 4K or RAW recordings. With two card slots for SD and CFexpress memory cards, you have not only plenty of space, but also the speed to match the media.

The body is made from magnesium alloy and polycarbonate with glass fibre. It is based on the EOS 1D series, but more compact and significantly lighter. Operation is highly intuitive even in the most demanding professional situations. The camera also sits comfortably in the hand thanks to the integrated handle. Just like its larger DSLR sibling, the body is dust- and weather-resistant, offering high-quality protection in harsh weather conditions. The instinctive controls will feel familiar to EOS 1-series users, featuring both a multi-controller and smart controller along with three customisable rings. A 3.2" vari-angle (tiltable) screen lets you capture images from any creative angle. The Electronic Viewfinder (EVF) (0.5") delivers a smooth, true-to-life display at 5.76 million dots and 119.98 fps. The hot shoe provides data communication and power for accessories.
