The Shure VP64A omnidirectional reporter microphone is a compact and reliable interview microphone for journalism and video production. The omnidirectional pickup pattern ensures natural speech reproduction, even when the speaker is not positioned directly in front of the microphone. Thanks to its handy size, this microphone is ideal for quick reporting and camera use.

Shure VP64A Omnidirectional Reporter Microphone

The Shure VP64A is designed for reporters and videographers working in so-called ENG situations (Electronic News Gathering): fast-paced news and reportage work on location, often with a camera on the shoulder or in hand. The dynamic omnidirectional element captures sound evenly, ensuring voices are recorded clearly and consistently without needing to point the microphone in a precise direction.

The compact design sits comfortably in the hand, making extended use a pleasure. The VP64A features an XLR connector — a professional, balanced microphone connection that ensures interference-free signal transmission over longer cables. This allows you to connect the microphone effortlessly to professional cameras, audio recorders, and mixing desks. Phantom power is not required, making the VP64A ready to use in virtually any recording situation.
