The lens construction consists of nine lens elements in six groups (including one aspherical and one hybrid aspherical lens element). To ensure high contrast and accurate colour rendering, all lens elements feature a multi-layered UMC anti-reflection coating.

The Samyang 50mm f/1.4 delivers an extremely smooth transition between sharp and unsharp areas, the so-called bokeh effect.
