The Ricoh GR IIIx is a digital compact camera with a GR lens featuring a 40mm equivalent angle of view in 35mm format, ideal for snapshots, travel and street photography. The compact, lightweight body delivers professional image quality. Depending on how the lens is used, this versatile angle of view can create various image representations. You can capture an image comparable to a semi-wide-angle of 30mm, or create an entirely different visual expression. The camera also offers a range of new and improved features for post-processing your photos.

The GR IIIx has an APS-C format CMOS image sensor with high resolution and a large dynamic range. So printing in large format is no problem. The GR lens features unique optical technology. The lens consists of 7 elements in 5 groups, has a focal length of 26.1mm and an aperture of f/2.8. Both the image sensor and the lens are optimized for the best possible image quality.

The camera has a new image processor: GR Engine 6. This enhances the essential high image quality performance of the GR for a greater degree of detail. Faster processing enables the combination of a high-resolution sensor with multi-tone 14-bit RAW. This also contributes to improved response and functionality for autofocus and video.

The GR IIIx is equipped with a powerful "Accelerator Unit", a powerful processor that guarantees high image quality. The signal output by the image sensor is sent to the image processor after optimal processing. This reduces noise and ensures superior resolution and color reproduction across the entire sensitivity range. It also makes it possible to shoot at ISO 102400.

Camera shake is reduced for sharper images, even with snapshots taken in a fraction of a second. Shake Reduction (SR) has been installed while the GR IIIx has remained compact. It minimizes vibrations on three axes, including roll movements as well as horizontal and vertical tilt movements. These compensation effects yield as much as 4 stops of shutter speed if it is longer than 1/1000 second.
