This lens covers the popular focal lengths of 18-55mm (35mm equivalent: 27-82.5mm) with a maximum aperture of f/3.5-5.6. It is perfect for all kinds of photography, from portraits to landscapes. It is also ideal for recording HD films. Nikon's new stepping motor delivers fast focusing and is ideal for shooting movies. Thanks to the new motor, this lens works more quietly and is even faster than its predecessor. With Nikon's impressive vibration reduction, images stay sharp even in low light.
