Leofoto Monopod head VH-10S
The Leofoto Monopod head VH-10S is in a class by itself. This ultra-lightweight tripod head has been specially designed for use on monopods. Made from aircraft aluminium for maximum strength combined with low weight, this 85 mm high tripod head is black anodised for high durability. The double tilt capability means freedom of movement is similar to that of a ball head, but the weight is much lower thanks to the lack of a heavy ball.
The Leofoto VH-10S monopod tripod head has a built-in spirit level to easily level it and an Arca-Swiss compatible quick-release plate to mount your camera or lens at lightning speed. The 43 mm wide camera plate of the VH-10S can rotate 360° for panoramic photography and the degree scale on the base makes precise adjustment very easy. Locking is done by a handy little lever that you snap on and off. The VH-10S's quick release is interchangeable for another type of quick release if required.
The degree of friction of the Leofoto VH-10S monopod tripod head is controlled, as with a classic ball head, by a large, very precisely adjustable dial. Using the small rotary knob on the other side, you then lock the head in the desired position. In fact, it can tilt 90° to two sides and using the degree scale on the head you always set exactly the right degree of tilt. If you fold the monopod tripod head completely, it is ideal for transporting in combination with a long telephoto lens. The monopod then does not need to be disconnected but simply folds parallel to the lens.
Because Leofoto CNC-milled the VH-10S from black anodised aircraft aluminium, this two-way monopod tripod head is extremely light yet extremely strong: it weighs just 292 grams, but has a maximum load capacity of 10 kilos. Ideal if you use it in combination with long telephoto lenses. You can screw this tripod head directly onto a monopod with the 3/8-inch tripod screw, but Leofoto has also fitted an Arca-Swiss quick-release in the base, allowing you to combine the VH-10S monopod head with other Arca-Swiss compatible tripod accessories such as a levelling base.
