Leofoto DPG-1 Gimbal Tripod Head

Leofoto DPG-1 Gimbal Tripod Head

The Leofoto DPG-1 is a gimbal tripod head designed for a dual-camera setup. Where a normal gimbal head carries one camera, on the DPG-1 you mount two cameras or lenses at once. This way you work, for example, with a telephoto lens and a wide-angle lens at the same time, or capture photo and video from the same focal point. This makes the head particularly suitable for wildlife, bird and sports photography, where you want to be able to switch in a split second between a detail shot and the overall image without losing your subject.

The head is made of hard-anodised aircraft-grade aluminium and carries up to 25 kg, more than enough for heavy super-telephoto lenses. The clamp that holds the lens rotates 15° for precise camera positioning, so you fine-tune the angle of view without disturbing the focus or balance. The platform is also height-adjustable, so you match the head to different camera sizes. A well-balanced gimbal head lets you move heavy lenses virtually weightlessly, which makes hours of comfortable tracking possible.

With the 360° panorama mount you make controlled panorama shots by adjusting the tension of the quick-release plate. The locking system lets you aim the camera precisely from the outside, handy for avoiding obstacles and determining your composition exactly. A built-in safety lock prevents your equipment from accidentally coming loose during vertical adjustments, so your expensive gear is always secure.

On location, too, the DPG-1 works pleasantly. You easily fold in the swing arm for transport and storage: loosen the locking lever, fold in the arm and secure it. Via the knobs and levers you control panning and tilting smoothly and intuitively.
