Leica 19045 Q-P Black
The Leica 19045 Q-P Black stands out with its modest, minimalist look. The Q-P is a slim digital camera with impressive image and optical qualities. Thanks to the full frame 24.2 Megapixel CMOS sensor and Maestro II image processor, this digital camera is suited to high-resolution photography and Full HD video recording, with a wide ISO range of 100-50000. The built-in Summilux 28mm f/1.7 ASPH lens, which offers a wide-angle field of view, is a true match for the sensor and processor. Its large maximum aperture also makes it extremely well suited to working in low-light conditions. The Q-P Black features a high-resolution 3.68 Megapixel LCOS electronic viewfinder for an impressively bright and lifelike image. For intuitive viewing and control, there is a 3-inch 1.04m-dot touchscreen. In addition, the built-in Wi-Fi lets you share wirelessly and control the camera remotely from a paired mobile device via the Leica FOTOS app.
The Leica 19045 Q-P Black is an understated, streamlined update of the original Q (Typ 117). This minimalist design leaves out the iconic red dot you may be used to from Leica cameras. Instead, there is a classic Leica script engraving on the top plate. The camera also has a flat matte black paint finish for an even darker look. The Q-P additionally has a redesigned shutter button and on/off switch that offer improved ease of use, comparable to those of the M and CL series cameras. As an extra, this Q-P also comes with a special brown leather neck strap and a second rechargeable lithium-ion battery.
The full frame 24 Megapixel CMOS sensor combined with the Maestro II image processor delivers a wide dynamic range with remarkable colour rendering and increased ISO sensitivity for working in a variety of lighting conditions. The image processor also enables fast continuous shooting of up to 10fps for a maximum of 60 consecutive images in a burst, as well as Full HD video at 60fps. This camera also offers very fast contrast-detection autofocus for photographing both still and moving subjects. Focus peaking and live view zoom options are also available for manual focusing.
The built-in Summilux 28mm f/1.7 ASPH wide-angle lens offers a versatile, wide field of view for a variety of shooting situations, from street photography to landscape photography. The fast maximum aperture of f/1.7 excels in difficult lighting conditions and gives you plenty of control over depth of field for isolating your subject. Thanks to three aspherical elements, this lens reduces spherical aberrations and distortion to produce sharper images with more accurate rendering.
The physical design of the lens includes both an aperture ring and a focus ring for intuitive operation. The dedicated macro mode also lets you focus on subjects that are less than 17 centimetres away. The integrated image stabilisation system helps minimise motion blur in your images. You can also attach filters to the lens's 49mm filter thread. In addition, you can use a Digital Frame Selector, which offers 1.25x up to a 35mm equivalent, to get an image comparable to that of a longer focal length.
