Leica SL (TYP 601) body
The Leica SL (TYP 601) is an outstanding Full frame mirrorless camera, designed to take the top position in modern imaging technology. Thanks to the excellent 24 Megapixel CMOS sensor and Leica's Maestro II Processor, this Camera delivers the best image quality with an ISO sensitivity of 50-50,000. The sensor performs best in combination with Leica's excellent Lens collection. Even in less favourable lighting conditions, you enjoy fantastic image quality. The Leica SL (TYP 601) is also equipped with DCI 4K (4096x2160) video recording at 24fps in a Super35 mode, together with a V-Log L gamma for maximum dynamic range.
The sensor, combined with the Processor, delivers high-resolution images at up to 11 frames per second. The 2GB internal buffer also makes it possible to shoot 33 DNG files in a burst, or unlimited JPEG. The contrast AF system is one of the fastest in any Full frame camera, with 49 fields to work with. This means you never have to miss the decisive moment again.
The video capabilities are excellent, with UHD 4K (3840x2160) at 30 and 25fps in addition to DCI 4K when using the Super35 mode of the Camera. Besides this impressive Resolution, you can use the V-Log L gamma, a very flat profile that maximises the dynamic range of the image and gives editors information for the post-production process. Video is easily recorded internally via the UHS-II and UHS-I standard SD slots at 4:2:0 8-bit sampling rate, or output via HDMI with 4:2:2 1-bit sampling.
You can shoot in Full HD (1920x1080) and standard HD (1280x720) at an impressive 120bps for slow motion in the full-screen mode of the Camera. Numerous other video functions have been implemented to make shooting high-quality video easy. These include focus peaking, exposure simulation, clipping/zebras, grid overlays, aspect ratios and safe area. Audio is supported by a built-in stereo Microphone. You can add both a 3.5mm Headphone connection and a 3.5mm Microphone input using the optional AA-SCL4 Audio Adapter. Manual and automatic sound control is available.
The weather-resistant Body has dual SD storage, one slot with the UHS-II standard and a backup slot with the UHS-I standard. The Leica SL (TYP 601) also has a 1.3-inch monochrome LCD screen on the top. This lets you quickly check and change the settings. Finally, the Leica SL (TYP 601) has built-in WiFi for controlling your Camera remotely and easily sharing your photos with your friends.
