The 82mm Hoya HDX CIR-PL is a circular polarizer filter of absolute top quality. Hoya itself even refers to the HDX series as "Best filter performance in history" with its 8-layer multicoating and special tempered glass.

Features of the Hoya 82mm HDX CIR-PL Filter

The Hoya 82mm HDX CIR-PL Filter is a circular polarization filter. This filter can be used well for landscape photographs, for example. A CP filter is a bit bluish compared to a UV filter. By turning the CP filter you can show different colors of blue. So you can decide how blue you want your air.

Polarizing filters are often used to remove reflections from surfaces, for example of glass and water. This makes the colors more saturated and the air darker. There are two different polarization filters, a circular and a linear filter. Linear filters are less expensive than circular filters and more effective. However, you need a circular filter if you have a camera that measures through the lens or has autofocus, otherwise, you will disable one or both functions by the filter.
