Fotodiox Pro Automatic Macro Extension Tube, 48 mm Section - for Hasselblad XCD Mount Mirrorless Digital Cameras for Extreme Close-up Photography

The Fotodiox Pro Automatic Macro Extension Tube, 48 mm Section - for Hasselblad XCD Mount Mirrorless Digital Cameras for Extreme Close-up Photography is an automatic extension tube that communicates all electronic functions from the lens to the camera, including autofocus and autoexposure. Macro extension tubes are a great alternative to expensive macro lenses. Macro extension tubes maintain the original optical quality while transforming the normal lens into a macro lens. Placing distance between your camera body and lens shortens the focusing distance and creates the effect of magnifying your subject. Because no optical components are added to this extension tube, the image retains the original optical properties of the lens.

This is much more desirable than the close-up lenses that are added to the front of the lens via filter thread, which alters the optical quality resulting in a blurry image full of artefacts. Adding an extension tube increases the effective aperture, allowing less light to enter the camera, meaning you'll need to use a slower shutter speed or higher ISO to compensate for the loss of light. Your camera, if it is set to an automatic exposure mode, will take care of this for you automatically. Macro extension tubes are an affordable and easy way to turn any existing lens into a macro lens.

Compatibility: Hasselblad XCD mount cameras (eg. X1D-50C, X1D II 50C).
