The Canon CN7×17 KAS T/R1 is a versatile, fast zoom lens for ENG and cine use. With a zoom range of 17–120mm, you can capture all your shots with a single lens, from wide shots to close-ups.

The Canon CN7×17 KAS T/R1 builds on the CINE-SERVO line, with the added advantage of the RF mount. The lens continues the outstanding optical performance and mobility of its predecessor, while the additional pins of the RF mount improve communication with EOS R cinema cameras such as the EOS C400 and C70. Lens distortions are corrected in real time, and the improved focus ring enables smooth, fast focus adjustments with minimal focus breathing. The lens supports 8K cameras across the entire zoom range.

The lens is designed with a consistently warm colour balance that reproduces skin tones and is compatible with HDR. It features a maximum T-stop of T2.95 and an 11-blade iris. This produces a natural bokeh that is almost circular from fully open to minimum aperture. The odd number of iris blades creates a soft and diffuse light ray when shooting bright subjects.

The focus ring features markings on both the left and right sides in feet and metres. On one side, the markings are coated with luminous paint to improve visibility in low light. In addition, the focus indicators at the front are engraved on an angled surface with larger text to ensure visibility from the side and rear.

The Canon CN7×17 KAS T/R1 offers excellent operability and usability as an ENG lens through its support for 12-pin communication, the standard for broadcast camera systems. The new USB-C interface also allows you to save the Drive Unit settings and load them into other lenses. Via the USB-C port, you can fully customise the lens to your preferences and keep it up to date with the latest firmware. The Drive Unit can also be detached, allowing you to use the lens as a compact cine lens.
