To begin with, when buying studio cables you check the connection you need for the various devices. There are different types for this, from HDMI to USB and TRS. Are you planning to connect several cables in one device but it doesn't have enough room? Then take a look at a USB hub.
It's also important to measure which length of studio cable you need. You don't want one that's too long, because over long distances the signal quality drops. Still want a long cable because the distance between your devices is large? Then look at a cable with gold-plated connectors — these are better at blocking outside interference, so you keep a stronger signal.
Working in a photo studio with lots of cables? You can tidy them away nicely so they don't tangle and you don't trip over them. Take a look at the cable channels for this.
