Do you own the Fujifilm X-T4 and want to upgrade to the Fujifilm X-T5? You are not alone. Both mirrorless cameras are popular among photographers and videographers thanks to their retro/vintage design, advanced features, and exceptional image quality. We have listed the differences between the cameras below.
Although the Fujifilm X-T4 and X-T5 look very similar at first glance, the introduction of the X-T5 represents significant technical advancements. The most notable upgrade is sensor resolution: the X-T5 features a 40.2-megapixel sensor, compared to 26.1 megapixels in the X-T4. This means you can capture more detail with the X-T5, ideal for large prints or post-processing.
Video capabilities also differ: the X-T4 offers 4K up to 60 frames per second, while the X-T5 allows filming in 6.2K at 30p. This gives more freedom in post-production and higher image quality, although the X-T4 is still very suitable for videographers.
A subtle but important difference lies in the LCD screen. The X-T4 has a fully rotating vari-angle screen, popular with vloggers and content creators. The X-T5 opts for a 3-way tiltable screen, which better suits photographers who work from various angles, such as street or landscape photographers.
In terms of image stabilisation, the X-T5 is slightly more powerful, with 7 stops compared to 6.5 stops in the X-T4. Combine that with the faster X-Processor 5, and you get a noticeably faster workflow, with better performance in autofocus and image processing.
Finally, the X-T5 is lighter (approximately 50 grams difference) and supports not only classic RAW but also HEIF and 10-bit colour, which is particularly interesting for those who want to combine maximum image quality with efficient storage.
The X-T4 was the top choice for video and screen versatility for many years. But it has received a strong upgrade in the X-T5. If you value maximum photo quality, portability and the latest technology, the X-T5 is the best match.
